MCPS does not endorse any one agency; this list is provided only to inform parents/guardians of some of the counseling services available. Additional resources can be provided through the student's primary care provider. TMCPS is not responsible for payment of these services.


Arnette House

The Arnette House provides counseling both on and off our main campus to help youth ages 6-17 and their families resolve crises and stay together. This may include opening lines of communication, teaching effective conflict resolution skills, or reducing high-risk behaviors.

  • Individual and group counseling (depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity issues, trauma, family conflict and more)
  • Human Trafficking screening
  • Evidence-based family counseling for children ages 6-11
  • Link families with needed community resources
  • Children in Need of Services (CINS)/Families in Need of Services (FINS) case management for attendance and behavioral issues

Big Bear Behavioral Health Inc.

Big Bear Behavioral Health clinicians and case managers work diligently to pair clients with a service provider that is best suited to meet their individual needs. Clinicians and case managers travel to see clients at home and school for services. An array of services includes, but is not limited to:

  • In-home individual counseling/therapy
  • In-home family counseling/therapy
  • In-school, individual counseling/therapy
  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Medication management and follow-up appointments
  • Targeted case management for children
  • Comprehensive assessments that provide a working diagnosis and accurate treatment recommendations

Center for Autism & Related Services (CARD)

CARD serves children and adults of all levels of intellectual functioning who have autism, autistic-like disabilities, pervasive development disorder, dual sensory impairments (deaf-blindness), or vision or hearing loss with another disabling condition. We are required by the legislation that created CARD to have documentation of a qualifying diagnosis in order for an individual to receive our services. The diagnosis can be made by a physician, such as a pediatrician, psychiatrist, or neurologist, or by a licensed psychologist. In cases where no diagnosis is made, we encourage parents to call us for information on where they can go for a diagnostic evaluation.


Camelot Community Care

Camelot's In-Home Counseling Program provides counseling and psychiatric services to clients in their homes, school, or in the community. Our programs utilize several evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy, and others. The level of service provided to each client and/or their family is based upon the individual needs of the client.

Choices, Chances, Changes

Choices, Chances, Changes offers a variety of services tailored to individual, family, and agency needs/requirements. We incorporate a brief therapeutic model with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) directed at helping individuals and families succeed in their potential lives and environments. When specialized or longer-term services are needed, we further incorporate CBT, psychoeducational opportunities, and/or more intensive counseling.


Faithfully Guided Health Center

Faithfully Guided Health Center offers clinical Christian counseling services. Our therapists are licensed and/or registered with the State of Florida. Our counseling services are unique in that we collaborate with a team of professionals to promote healing through lifestyle interventions that help treat the whole person, spirit, mind, and body. The Centers offer individual, family, and group/peer therapy for children ages 17 and under. Children receive specialized treatment designed to meet the child’s specific needs from master’s level clinicians. Ignite Community Counseling & Resource Center

Ignite Community Counseling and Resource Center provides a wide range of Outpatient and In-Home Psychotherapy services to help people of all ages and ethnicities identify and modify behaviors, learn positive coping mechanisms, and find healthy outlets for expressing feelings. Services include but are not limited to:

IMPOWER

IMPOWER's Telehealth Program provides mental health and substance abuse services. These services can be done in the school setting or in the privacy of the student/family home. Serving ages 6 years thru adulthood. IMPOWER accepts all Medicaid plans and funding is available statewide for individuals who are uninsured/underinsured. IMPOWER's services include:

We assist in creating success for your children not only by improving their academic and behavioral skills but also by working with parents to create new home routines to increase school success. For clients receiving in-school counseling, counselors meet with the client and parents at home at least one time each month. Our counselors are trained in the research-proven methods of Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change theory.
